We will be doing an assortment of projects. These projects will include painting\, landscaping\, and even some light carpentry. If you have a specific skill that you think could be usefull we will find a project for you! \nThis is a free event that is open to the public but registration is required. \nWe will start on Saturday the 2nd with breakfast at 8 AM. The workday will begin at 9 AM. We will work until 4 PM. Lunch will be provided. \nStarting at 6\, those who helped during the day are invited to stay and enjoy some fellowship with other alumni and friends of Chanco. Free overnight lodging in our Watson lodge will be available on a first-come-first-serve basis. \nIf you are planning on staying for dinner please bring a side dish or dessert to share. Chanco will provide the basics for a classic cookout. \nIf you do wish to indulge during this fellowship time please BYOB. DESCRIPTION:Our Food for the Soul retreat is back! Join us for a relaxing retreat filled with fellowship\, service\, an amazing menu\, a cooking lesson with Chef Rafael\, a Virginia wine tasting\, live acoustic music with David Carter that evening and more. \nOne of the biggest ways to maintain our spiritual well being is by giving back. At this year’s Food for the Soul retreat\, we will be making Mana Bags to give out to those in need. These are large ziplock bags filled with necessities (Canned food\, socks\, toothpaste\, prayer cards) that can be given to those in need. Please pick one item that you would like to put into our mana bags and then bring 25 of that item. \nArrival time is 10 am Saturday\, 10/5\, and we will conclude around 11 am Sunday with Eucharist on the bluff with the Rev. Eileen Walsh officiating. The cost is $110 if you choose to share a room and $135 for a single room. Scholarship assistance is available. \nDon’t miss this opportunity to nourish your body and spirit with wonderful people\, fantastic food and great music!
