This event will be the second event in our ongoing Matoaka Covenant commitment to build and nurture relationships with Indigenous People. Join us at our Indigenous Convocation for a day that promises to be one of interaction, education, and celebration!

Fall Work Weekend

November 1–3

We’re gearing up to complete some housekeeping projects such as roof updates, trail system maintenance, and more in efforts to keep our beautiful campus in tip-top shape for our visitors. This event is open to all ages!

EYC Fall Weekend

November 8–10

Youth Grades 6-12 are invited to embark on adventure with old and new friends across the Diocese during the annual Episcopal Youth Committee fall weekend. The EYC Board is excited to explore this year’s theme: Embracing our spiritual gifts (Psalm 146).

Deeper Well Retreat

November 15

Join us with The Rev. Dr. Scott Stoner of Living Compass Ministries for a unique faith and wellness retreat and resourcing gathering at Chanco on the James. Dr. Stoner and others will lead break-out experiences during a weekend of rest and renewal.

Winter Camp

January 17–19, 2025

Winter Camp is almost here! For those who have always wanted to experience camp with us, this is the perfect opportunity to see for yourself what makes Chanco so special. Zip through the trees, forge new friendships, get creative and share stories by a giant bonfire sipping hot cocoa!

Camp Chanco

Our residential camp offers a wealth of traditional activities, including high and low ropes courses, zip lining, archery, pool activities, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, and sailing, as well as nature instruction and arts and crafts classes.

We offer an ACA accredited summer camp program for youth ages 8-16.
