Whether you’re looking for comfort or a more rustic experience, Chanco has a variety of lodging options that are designed to meet your retreat needs.
The Manor House
Take a step back into history! The Manor House is the original historic home at Chanco and offers the best view of the James River. The Manor House offers three bedrooms, two rooms furnished with a pair of single beds and a double, and a third room furnished with a single bed. The Manor House offers a full kitchen, dining room, living room, and sun porch. Two fireplaces offer cozy warmth in the colder temperatures. Relax and unwind during your getaway in the Manor House.
Lodging Buildings A, B, C, and D
All of the essentials for your camp stay! Motel-styled rooms featuring a private bath, a double and single bed, and a kitchenette including a refrigerator, sink, and microwave. Need more beds? Rollaway beds are available if needed. In need of a meeting space? Building C houses the Pipsico Bay Room, and building D houses the River View Room.
*Pricing:
Single occupancy rooms: $90/room per night
Multiple occupancy rooms: $110/room per night
The Watson Lodge
The perfect lodge for a larger group! The Watson Lodge has a total of 8 bedrooms and 18 beds. Rooms 1-4 include two double beds, rooms 5 and 7 each include one double bed and two single beds, and rooms 6 and 8 each include one double bed and one single bed. Equipped with a full kitchen, three separate meeting areas, and a large basement featuring a fireplace, the Watson Lodge offers ample space to host your group gathering.
Pricing: $1,000 flat fee per night
The Chalets
Who says rustic can’t be comfortable? Our Chalets are the perfect lodging option for campers who want the camp experience, but who are not comfortable sleeping outside in a tent. The Chalets each house three bunk beds and can sleep up to six in a cabin – perfect for youth groups! Three bathhouses are within walking distance from the Chalets, allowing easy and comfortable access.
*Pricing: $20/person per night
Bring Your Own Tent!
Are you looking to unplug and fully immerse yourself in nature? Bring your own tent and set up your spot at one of our many camping sites.
*Pricing: $10/person per night

Chanco on the James hosts a number of retreats that promote the spiritual and physical wellness of God’s people. We also offer a place apart where you can have your own group or individual retreat. A ministry of the Episcopal Church in the Diocese of Southern Virginia, Chanco is open year-round to meet all of your retreat needs.
