Option #1
The Manor House
The Manor House is the original historic home at Chanco, offering three bedrooms. Two rooms are furnished with a pair of single beds and a double and a single bed are located in the third room. The Manor House has the best view of the James River, overlooking the bluff. The Manor House offers a full kitchen, dining room, living room, and sun porch. Two fireplaces make the Manor House cozy on even cold nights.
Option #2
Lodging Buildings A, B, C, and D
Buildings A, B, C, and D offer motel-styled rooms with a private bath. Each room is furnished with one double and one single bed. To increase occupancy, rollaway beds are available. Building C houses the Pipsico Bay Room meeting space and Building D houses the River View Room. Each of these meeting spaces offers a kitchenette featuring a refrigerator, sink, and microwave.
Option #3
The Watson Lodge
Watson Lodge has a total of eight bedrooms and eighteen beds. Rooms 1, 2, 3, and 4 have two double beds in each room. Rooms 5 and 7 have one double bed and two single beds in each room. Rooms 6 and 8 have one double bed and one single bed in each room. Watson Lodge is equipped with a full kitchen and three separate meeting areas. The large basement features a fireplace and ample seating for gathering.

The ChaletsÂ
Our Chalets are perfect for youth groups during the warmer months. Chalets have three bunk beds and sleeps up to six in a cabin. Each of our eight campsites features four Chalets. Three bathhouses are within walking distance and serve our campsites. Chalets are not available during camp sessions.

Chanco on the James hosts a number of retreats that promote the spiritual and physical wellness of God’s people. We also offer a place apart where you can have your own group or individual retreat. A ministry of the Episcopal Church in the Diocese of Southern Virginia, Chanco is open year-round to meet all of your retreat needs.
