THE CAMPAIGN FOR CHANCO

DECEMBER 2021 UPDATE

The Finish Line is Within Our Sight!

As of December 24,  2021

MATCHING GIFT CHALLENGE

With the full support of our bishop, the Rt. Rev. Susan B. Haynes, and the Diocesan Executive Board, the leadership committee for The Campaign for Chanco is thrilled to announce that the Episcopal Diocese of Southern Virginia has commited a $300,000 matching gift challenge in support of Chanco reaching our inspirational $4.4 million-dollar goal. This means that any new gift to the campaign made from now through the end of the year will have double the impact. We are enormously grateful for the diocesan support of Chanco’s ministry, and we are seeking to meet this one-to-one challenge by December 31, 2021.

We are confident we can achieve this unprecedented total in a relatively short time and thus enable us to successfully, with joy and gratitude, cross the finish line of this historical campaign – but only with your prayerful consideration of a gift today.

DOUBLE THE IMPACT

You may make a gift on this site by any method below. You may mail a pledge form and check to Chanco at 394 Floods Drive, Spring Grove, VA 23881 with “Capital Campaign” in the memo line. If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact us at 888-724-2626 or [email protected]. We sincerely thank you for your support.

Campaign Progress

2017–September 2021

My introduction to summer church camp actually didn’t happen until I was an adult. As a parent, I made sure that church camp in the Diocese of Northern Indiana was part of my children’s summer experience. In my own formation as an Episcopal priest, I volunteered as camp chaplain. I would not trade those experiences for anything!  After a year in the Diocese of Southern Virginia and many visits to Chanco, I am proud to be associated with this place of spiritual refuge and peace. God is encountered in nature – in the woods and on the river. These natural encounters, combined with superb Christian spiritual formation and programming, serve to make the Chanco experience one of the best in the nation!
